Profiseal Propeller Shaft Seals are avaialble in both water and oil lubricated.

In Australia we market mostly the water lubricated ones. There are two versions of the water lubricated seals.

1. Profiseal -- water lubricated facetype shaft seal, designed to withstand high life time even in dirty waters. they are constructed of sea water resistant Bronze and are aesy to install without further adjustment. Seals in Aluminium constrcution are available for installation in ships with Aluminium hulls. They are available up to 90mm in both metric and Imperial sizes.

Note: Our stock mainly includes imperial shaft sizes.

2. Pneumostop-- water lubricated radial standstill design, available for shaft diameters 50mm to 200mm and its' metric equivalents.

Each seal comes with an Warranty for 2000 hours running or 2 years, whichever comes first.

Notes about selection of Profiseal:

Your Profiseal housing is a flanged one and requires another flange which is fitted on to the stern tube, incase you do not have a flanged stern tube, which is the case in most small boat installations.

We supply appropriate flange at additional costs. The flange may need some machining to match the stern tube outsidec diameter. If you specify your stern tube outside diameter when ordering a seal, the flange could be machined to suit your installation at marginal additional costs.

Customer also can supply their own flange and order them with the stern tube to suit the standard hole pattern in the profiseal. For installations with an existing flanged stern tube an adaptor ring might be necessary to match the different hole patterns or simply balancing out uneven squareness or centricity of the shaft within the stern tube. Please provide us with a dimensional sketch of your sterntube flange for us to be able to supply an Adaptor Ring.

The Profiseal housing, a gasket and bolts are a standard supply with the seal, the housing is also fitted with a bronze fiiting for automatic venting or to provide water connections for adequate cooling of the seals depending on the shaft speed.

Please refer to the catalogue as well as Installation Instructions supplied with each seal to see the requirements of water connection for effective seal cooling.

These are extremely high quality seals and are regarded as a prime choice by many commercial and pleasureboat operators. The constrcutions are in seawater resistant Bronze with an option of Aluminium constructions at 10% more costs.

There is another distinct advantage with Profiseals, they require very limited space, which is critical in some installations.
